There seems no shadow secret,
Not still, not now or yet concealed,
A surprise of magic undefined
Now I pray return,
The fear darkness once gave,
And wonder if life’s goal to find,
Some shade more full of mystery,
Than the blackness of the night.
I dreamt of you last night, forgot you broke me, just then, left the pain on my pillow and sank within this echo of a when.
Heard your laughter like the sun, saw the smile that stole my sleep. Beautiful, just one more time, for me. Twin stars in the abyss.

Many of us are sitting alone today, without a person to share this celebration with, but I want to snap us out of it, because Valentine’s Day is not what the world wants us to think it is, no more than Christmas is about Santa, and no more than Easter is about Bunnies.

She was the first to say “I love you” – it was the best moment of my life. The happiest. I lost my cat, my little buddy, the day she said those words for the first time, and it is a testament to the power of those words, that she made such a sad day so happy, so easily. I went to sleep with a smile on my face.
That is my definition of Love. A light in the dark. A well in the desert.
